Suitable for flush fastening treated timber to metal where a countersunk head is required. The wings counterbore a clearance hole through the timber, allowing the drill point to reach the metal without the thread engaging in the timber and causing it to ride up the screw shank. The wings snap off when they contact the metal, allowing full thread engagement.
